Summer quietly past to leave a small secret, autumn and autumn flowers slowly busy and busy. September is the golden time for us gardeners to raise flowers. We can put everything on the agenda, such as changing pots, fertilizing, cutting and sowing. If we grasp this month, the flowers at home will enter the crazy growth mode in the second half of the year.~

September flowers - change pot

When the maximum temperature is stable below 30 ℃, check that the root system of the pot is full of flowerpots, and the roots all come out from the bottom of the pot. It is half a year or more from the last pot change.

When replacing a flowerpot with a diameter of 5-10cm larger than the original one, except for the fleshy root flowers, other fibrous root plants must keep the protective core soil, that is, take some original soil lump.

Note: the flowering plants are not suitable for basin change (all flowers); the plants that are about to blossom and are in the flower bud differentiation stage are not suitable for basin change (osmanthus, chrysanthemum, longevity flower).

September flowers - fertilization

For the plants to be changed in September, they can be mixed with bean cake and chicken manure at the bottom of the basin as the base fertilizer. For the plants without changing the basin, they can spread slow-release fertilizer at the edge of the basin or on the surface of the soil.

After half a month of application of base fertilizer or slow-release fertilizer, some quick acting fertilizer can be applied to flowers. If the plant is in poor condition, apply less fertilizer.

Note: for autumn flowering plants, more P and K fertilizer should be applied instead of nitrogenous fertilizer, otherwise flowering will be affected.

September flowers - pruning

In September, some flowers can also be cut once, such as the newly broken rose and jasmine. Cut the broken flowers in time, cut the branches back properly, and promote the plant to start another crop in autumn.

There are also flowers that can't be cut in September, such as the big Hydrangea with old branches blooming. It's certain that no flowers will be cut this year or next year. For example, osmanthus and chrysanthemum that are about to enter the blooming period can't be cut either.

September flower cutting

In September, the temperature is suitable. No matter what plants are cutted, the probability of survival is very high. For example, jasmine, rose, triangle plum, gardenia, azalea, etc., the twig cutting is the most suitable.

In addition to branch cutting, some plants are also suitable for leaf cutting in September, such as succulent, Yushu, snake plant, Begonia, African Viola, big rock Tung, longevity flower, geranium, etc.

September flower planting

In addition to cutting propagation, September is also the best time for planting, such as suitable for sowing propagation of Eclipta, Petunia, chamomile, pansy, goldfish grass, Daisy, Nanking cherry, etc.

In addition to sowing, peony and peony should also be planted separately in autumn. Generally, peony can be planted separately from the first ten days of September to the last ten days of October, and peony can be planted before and after cold dew.

Flowers in September - pest control

In autumn, when flowers are raised, leaf spot disease is easy to break out. Prevention work should be done well in advance. Carbendazim or flower protection spirit should be sprayed every half a month. The prevention of diseases and insect pests must be greater than the treatment.

In case of insect damage, appropriate insecticides should be selected to kill the insect, such as red kill package (pyridaben) for red spider, scale and shell insect, underground insect, etc.
