Kidney fern is more yin resistant and can not be exposed to strong light. If the light is too strong, it is easy to make the leaves yellow. If the growing environment is too dark, the leaves will fall off. In spring and autumn, it can be slightly illuminated in the morning and evening, with 4 hours of sunshine guaranteed every day. In winter, it can be placed where the sunshine can be seen. It's too bright in summer. Just put it where there's astigmatism.
Its root system distribution is shallow, and the culture soil is required to be loose, fertile and easy to drain. One part of rotten leaf soil, one part of plain sand and two parts of vermiculite can be used for pot culture, one part of rotten leaf soil or peat soil and one part of vermiculite can be used for basket culture.
It likes to be warm and its growth temperature is 16-25 ℃. It can't bear the severe cold. It needs to keep warm in winter. In winter, if the room temperature is maintained at 12-15 ℃, it can survive safely.
It is more drought resistant, but it also needs to be provided with sufficient water during its growth period. If the air is too dry, it is easy to curl or even scorch the leaves. If too much water is applied, the leaves will wither and fall off.
It does not blossom or bear fruit, consumes little nutrients, and needs more fertilizer. In the growing season, the fertilizer should be applied once or twice a month, and the thin and mature fertilizer cake water can be selected as fertilizer.
