Poinsettia belongs to the plant with short sunshine and strong phototropism. Therefore, it needs to be given sufficient light, with 8-9 hours of light per day as the best time. If the light is not enough, it will cause its decors to dim. If you put it in the shade for a long time, it will not bloom.
It likes loose and easily drained sandy soil. When planting it, generally use 3 parts of vegetable garden soil, 3 parts of humus soil, 3 parts of rotten leaf soil, 1 part of rotten cake fertilizer, add a small amount of slag to mix and prepare its soil.
It likes warm environment, afraid of cold. The suitable temperature for its growth is 18-25 ℃, the temperature in winter should not be lower than 10 ℃, and the best temperature is 15-20 ℃. If the temperature is too low, it will lead to poor development of its leaves and flowers.
It is not allowed to accumulate water. Generally, watering is the best way to keep the basin soil moist without accumulating water. If there is enough water in the growing period, the plant is easy to grow in vain. If there is less water, the leaves will turn yellow or even fall off. After flowering, reduce watering to keep the soil in the basin dry.
It needs to be fertilized once every half a month during its growth period. Generally, one teaspoon of soluble fertilizer should be applied to each plant two weeks before flower bud differentiation. The fertilizer concentration should be reduced by half in winter.
