In general, pitaya is sold in fruit shops or supermarkets almost all the year round. In fact, its fruit period is between May and November, so it is the freshest to eat in this half year. It takes about 40 days from blooming to mature picking, and it can be picked when it changes from green skin to purplish red.
1. Temperature: the Pitaya is produced in the south. It likes high temperature and is afraid of low temperature. The suitable temperature for growth is between 25 ℃ and 35 ℃. If it is lower than 10 ℃, it will stop growing.
2. Soil: it's not very strict for soil. It can grow well in mountain, wasteland and dry land.
3. Water content: pitaya is drought resistant, but the soil is required to be wet during its growth period. If it is short of water for a long time, it will stop growing.
4. Light: dragon fruit is very fond of light and sunshine. It will grow very vigorously with sufficient direct light and bear more fruits.
