The crown of a coconut tree is like an umbrella. It is composed of many leaves. It is evergreen. The leaves are pinnately split and leathery. It is 60-100cm long and 3-4m wide. The petiole is thick and strong, with a length of more than 1 m. Below the leaves are strings of coconuts, green as they mature.
