If you want to keep orchids well, there are many factors, the most important of which is watering. But watering is also uncontrolled. It is affected by temperature, light, wind, season and weather. We should consider comprehensively to find the corresponding method. Those so-called watering once a few days often have no scientific basis.
The temperature will accelerate the transpiration of the plant. In the higher temperature environment, the water demand of the plant will be more, and the number and amount of watering should be increased accordingly. On the contrary, the temperature is lower, the water evaporation is slow, and the water demand is less. This is mainly different in seasons.
According to the light, watering is actually about the same as the temperature. When the light is good and strong, the water evaporates quickly and needs more water. On the contrary, the water demand is less. Therefore, the shading is different, and the frequency of watering is also different. When exposed to the sun, there is more water, and when exposed to the sun, there is less water.
From the angle of air humidity, the water in the basin will evaporate quickly and more water will be needed. On the contrary, if the air humidity is high, the transpiration will be weak, so we need to reduce watering or not.
This kind of situation is suitable for outdoor breeding. The dry southwest wind, with strong wind, requires you to water more. On the contrary, the southeast wind is relatively wet, with weak transpiration, so you can water less. In addition, when placing orchids in the position of the air outlet, more water is needed.
The nature is changeable. Under different light, temperature and humidity, the amount of water is different. The basic method is: more water in sunny days, less water in cloudy days, no water in rainy days.
