The cutting of shrimp flower can be carried out in four seasons, mainly in spring and summer. In summer, cutting needs shade and moisture. First, the ear strips with 2-3 internodes, which were growing well in the same year, were cut as cuttings. Both old and young cuttings can be used, but under the same temperature conditions, the rooting speed of young branches is faster, and the cutting medium is suitable for selection of sand, vermiculite or perlite, and disinfection and sterilization. One basal node was inserted into the substrate, the room temperature should be kept below 20 ℃, about 10 days later, it could take root and bloom the next year. After rooting, the cuttings should be transplanted to the basin in time, properly shaded, and then moved to the sunny place after the new leaves grow.
First of all, seed selection is needed. It is best to select the seeds collected in the same year to ensure the germination rate of seeds. Select full and full shrimp flower seeds without diseases and insect pests. Then soak the seeds in warm water for about 12-24 hours, until the seeds absorb water and expand. For the smaller seeds, you can use a toothpick moistened with water at one end to take the seeds, and then stick the seeds on the surface of the substrate, covering the soil with a depth of about 1 cm, and then put the seeded flowerpot into the water, the depth of the water is 1 /2-2 /3 of the height of the flowerpot, let the water slowly soak up. For the larger seeds, they can be directly put into the substrate and ordered at a spacing of 3 × 5cm. The depth of covering soil is about 2-3 times of seed. After spraying, the spray can be used to wet the substrate. When the basin is dry, the water should be drenched. At the same time, attention should be paid to controlling the intensity of watering so that the seeds will be washed away.
