The cuttings are suitable for the branches with strong growth and no diseases and insect pests. The branches with short internode, full bud tip and thick leaves are the best
Generally, we can mix peat soil and saprophytic soil in the proportion of 3:3:4, which is good for rooting and sprouting of branches.
Before cutting, it is better to treat the cuttings with ABT rooting powder and other chemicals in advance to promote their rooting. Cut the cuttings into about 8-12cm segments, and keep 2-3 buds. The incision at the lower part of the cuttings is generally 0.5cm below the node. The incision should be smooth. Cut off the lower leaves, leaving only 2-3 leaves at the top, and the insertion depth is generally about 3cm.
The suitable rooting temperature is between 20-24 ℃, and the general soil temperature is 3-5 ℃ higher than the temperature, which is more conducive to rooting. The relative humidity of the inserted bed air is 80% - 90%, and the light is required to be about 30%. The water content should be suitable, the water content in the early stage of cuttage is a little large, and the later stage is a little dry.
After cutting, it should be watered and covered with plastic film, placed in a shaded place to avoid direct sunlight. At night, it needs to increase the light to help its cutting survival. Air 1-2 times a day to supplement oxygen and prevent disease. It is necessary to spray water frequently to keep the cuttings moderately moist, but if too much water is sprayed, it will affect the cuttings' healing and rooting. Wait until the new root is 2-3cm long, then it can be transplanted into the basin.
