Rubber fig pruning - The Plant Aide

When the Rubber fig grows to 30-50cm, the buds and branches at the top should be cut off. When the buds grow, they should be cut off in order to concentrate nutrients on the main branch. In winter, heavy pruning should be carried out, i.e. sparse pruning of dense branches, pruning of some yellow leaves and thin branches, and retaining robust branches. The cut of trimming should be smooth, and it is better to apply some grass and wood ash after trimming.

2. Attention to trimming

When trimming, the incision should be as smooth as possible, and it is best to deal with it after trimming. It will flow some juice from the incision position, and try to smear some grass ash, so as to avoid infection. If there is more juice coming out, it is very easy to get infected.
