The sowing time of imperial flower should be in autumn. Autumn sowing is suitable for the south of China, but the north can be sown in the early autumn, while there is still a little summer surplus temperature.
The seeds of imperial flowers are wrapped in prickly shells, like chestnut. The seed needs to be peeled out, otherwise it is not suitable to break the shell. Some flower friends refrigerate the seeds for a period of time before sowing, but in fact, direct sowing is also possible.
The planting soil of imperial flower needs the sandy soil with slight tide, and a little basic fertilizer can be applied in it.
It will take about 1-2 months to grow 4-5 true leaves from the seeds of imperial flowers. At this time, they can be transplanted in pots. The potting soil for seeding seedlings does not need to be too wet, and can be kept slightly dry. The seedlings after transplanting shall be maintained in a place with sufficient ventilation and light.

The cuttings above the semilignified position were selected as cuttings, and 4-6 leaves were preserved. The cuttings were soaked with 1000 ppm indole-3-butyric acid solution for 15 minutes and then dried immediately.
According to the volume ratio of 4:6, peat and perlite were used to mix the cutting medium of kingflower. The pH value was adjusted from 5.5 to 6.5, and the EC value was less than 0.5.
The cutting depth is 1 /3 ~ 1 /4 of the cutting length. After cutting, the management should be carried out according to the conventional technology, and the field transplanting should be carried out after seedling emergence.

No matter the seedlings planted or cutted, they prefer the pot soil which is too wet, just keep the pot soil a little dry. However, it is advisable to increase the air humidity and spray mist around the plant to keep the air humidity above 50%.
