Propagation methods of Siji pear

There are three propagation methods of Siji pear: grafting, ring branch and cutting. The rootstock should be used for grafting in winter and spring. Remove the newly peeled branches and leaves, and cut them 15 days later. The cut cuttings are inserted into the rootstock and can be healed in one month. The ring branch should be peeled 60 cm away from the top of the branch and coated with indobutyric acid to promote rooting. Cutting can be carried out in spring, cutting 15 cm long branches, the bottom stained with indobutyric acid and then inserted into plain soil.

It is better to use this rootstock or guava as rootstock for the grafting of Siji pear. Generally in winter and spring, the diameter of seedlings should be more than 0.7 cm. The scion should not be too old. Usually, the branch just peeled is used. First remove the leaves, wait about 15 days, and then cut them. Insert the cut scion into the rootstock and tie it. It will heal in about a month.

Second, ring Branch

Four seasons pear can also be propagated by means of ring branch. Select the branches with a diameter of about 1.5cm, and girdle 60 cm from the top of the branches, with a width of about 3cm. Applying IBA to the girdling can promote rooting. After that, it can take root in about two months. Separate the rooting plant from the parent plant and plant it in the soil.

3. Cutting

The cutting of Siji pear is generally carried out in spring. Cut a 1.5cm thick branch about 15cm long. Dip the bottom of the branch with indole butyric acid, remove some leaves, and only keep the upper ones. Then insert the branches into the sand and spray them properly. Temperature control in 28 - 32 ℃, can accelerate rooting.
