The most common method of cactus is cutting. Select the mature branches that are one to two years old, cut them into 15 to 20 cm long segments, and then cut the bottom at an angle. After that, soak it in a cup with water for two days, take it out and insert it into a matrix with good permeability, and wait for rooting. In addition, it can be propagated by grafting.

I. cutting method

This is its main mode of reproduction, with high survival rate and simple operation. The main steps are as follows:

1. Time: as long as the temperature is suitable, it is OK from March to October, but it is best from May to July.

2. Matrix: it is mainly required to be permeable and nutritious. Sandy soil with more humus can be used.

3. Cuttings: select mature branches from one to two years old. Cut it into 15 to 20 cm long segments, each with several segments. Then, trim the upper end, the bottom end into a slant, and cut off the leaves of the lower two sections, and the upper part of the leaves should also be cut off. After treatment, put it in a cup with water, let the water submerge one or two sections of its lower end, soak it for two days, and then take it out to dry.

4. Cutting: put the substrate into the container and wet it with water. Then use tools such as small wooden sticks to make several holes in the substrate, and insert the cuttings so that one-third to one-half of the whole cuttings are not buried in the soil. Then compact the substrate and cover it with a plastic bag.

2. Grafting

Grafting is also a common way. It can be carried out with semi lignified cactus branches and cacti. First use a blade to peel off part of the branch. Choose another cactus about one centimeter in size, cut off the center piece from the bottom, and then insert the branches into it. After that, it can be cured in a well ventilated and bright place.
