The propagation of bamboos can be divided into branch propagation, seed propagation and cutting propagation. However, because it is difficult to get the seeds of bamboos, and it is difficult to root by cutting, so bamboos are mainly propagated by ramets.
The ramets were propagated from February to march in spring, combined with basin changing. Pour out the overdense plants from the basin, cut the roots of the plants with a knife, and put them into another basin to avoid damaging the roots. At the same time, the fibrous roots should be preserved as much as possible to ensure the survival of the bamboo. Plant the new plant in a suitable pot, cultivate it with fertile soil, keep it moist, and place it in the half shade, the shoot bud will grow rapidly.
It is suitable to be carried out in April to may, and the seeds are soaked in warm water for 1-2 days before sowing. It can germinate about 40 days after sowing. Seedlings grow slowly, about half a year later can be transplanted and cultured
It is inconvenient to use the horizontal burying method, usually using the vertical cutting to propagate.
It is better to cut in March to April or July to August. The substrate for cutting should be mountain mud or clean sand. The thickness of cutting is about 15 cm. Coarse grains are used at the bottom and smaller grains are used at the upper part, which is more conducive to water penetration and easy to control the water content of the substrate. The cuttings are cut from the stems of two or three-year-old bamboos, and each section of cuttings is taken as a single section or 2-3 sections as required. 2-2.5cm below the bottom of the stem node to be buried in the soil. The upper nodes need to be 1 cm empty to prevent water loss. When cutting, it is necessary to insert 2.5cm part of the empty stem bottom into the soil, and 1cm of the stem node at the bottom into the soil. The insertion of stem nodes should be moderate, too deep or too shallow to manage. After cutting, ensure that the air humidity around the slotting machine is increased. Spray 6~7 on each day to make the air humidity 85%.
In addition, it needs to cover nine to eight tenths of the light to reduce its water consumption. At a suitable temperature, it can take root in 25-30 days.
