Cuttage: cut 2-3 nodes from the end of the stem or 2-3 nodes from the middle of the stem and insert them into the soil. After cuttage, 10-15 natural roots can be planted. Tissue propagation: the shoot top and lateral buds are usually used as explants. The shoot top is usually sterilized and inoculated on the culture medium. After 45 days, it is induced to take root. After about 20-25 days, it becomes a complete plantlet.

Reproduction method

Cuttage Propagation

Cuttage can be used when the temperature is above 15 ℃ from May to October.

2-3 nodes at the apex of stem or 2-3 nodes at the middle of stem can be cut for spike insertion, and new branches can continue to sprout at the base.

The bed can be planted with river sand, vermiculite or moss, 10-15 natural roots after planting.

Sometimes, when the air humidity is high, the aerial roots often grow on the stem nodes, which can be cut directly into pot plants and put in half shade for maintenance. Some long stems of vines grow close to the ground, and the adventitious roots at the nodes of stems grow directly into the ground, which can be potted only by digging.

Tissue propagation

The stem top and lateral buds are often used as explants.

After the stem top was regularly disinfected, it was inoculated on MS medium supplemented with 6-benzylaminoadenine 5mg /L and indoleacetic acid 2mg /L. after 45 days, the adventitious buds were transferred to 1 /2ms medium supplemented with indoleacetic acid 2mg /L to induce rooting. After 20-25 days, it became a complete plantlet.

Cultivation management

fertilization

During the growth period, the plants were fertilized once every half a month or with "Huiyou" 20-8-20 for four seasons, so as to promote the growth of the plants to be luxuriant and have many branches.

watering

For indoor maintenance in winter, do not over wet the basin soil, otherwise, in case of low temperature and humidity, it will cause root rot and death or leaf yellowing and falling off, affecting the ornamental value.

trim

In outdoor cultivation, the stems should not be too long to avoid strong wind.

In summer, the growth of stem and leaf is rapid, so it is necessary to pick the heart and reshape for potted ornamental. If it is too long or too dense, it needs to be cut and reshaped to keep a beautiful plant state. The adult plants can be re cut in spring when they change pots, so as to re germinate and renew.

Pests and diseases

The common leaf spot and grey mould can be sprayed with 70% zineb WP 700 times.

At ordinary times, the same amount of Bordeaux spray can be used for prevention. Whitefly and thrips are harmful to the stems and leaves, and 40% Omethoate emulsifiable concentrate is used for spraying.
