The container size should be in proportion to the size of planted carambola. But plastic basin or purple sand basin is a good choice
Nutrient soil should be a matrix with good permeability, moisture and fertilizer, and pH value between 6.0-6.5. You can use fertile pond mud to mix with river sand, dried chicken manure and superphosphate in the proportion of 5:3:1.9:0.1.
The planting time of carambola in the upper pot is suitable before the sprouting in March to April. Check whether the bottom hole of the flowerpot is unblocked before potting, and then cover the convex surface of the broken basin piece on the hole to achieve the purpose of ventilation and water permeability without soil leakage. Then pave the coarse soil particles about 3cm thick, and then put them into the nutritious soil. When planting, cut the excessively long coarse roots moderately, so that the roots can stretch naturally, and then fill in the nutritious soil, so that the soil can be in close contact with the root system. It has to be compacted by hand. The covering depth of nutrient soil should be about 2-3cm over the root neck, and the edge of soil surface should be about 4-5cm to facilitate water pouring. After the basin should be timely poured enough root water, and then covered with a layer of straw on the basin surface, and placed under the shade shed, after a reasonable watering, about 10-13 days can gradually see light curing.
