Chernozem is formed by the accumulation of volcanic ash. It is a very widely used medium for planting soil. It is a high permeability volcanic mud, usually dark red round particles, without harmful bacteria, and its pH value is slightly acidic, which is very conducive to soil drainage and water storage.
Generally, the diameter of the medium grain is about 2 to 6.5 mm, and the diameter of the fine grain is about 1 to 2 mm. Medium grained soil is suitable for potting all kinds of plants. It is a kind of universal soil, especially for the cultivation of cactus and other pulpy plants, Chinese orchids and so on. Fine grained soil is usually used for lawn planting or seedling raising of some plants, usually mixed with other media such as deer marsh soil or rotten leaf soil.
