Bamboo originated in southern Africa, is not cold resistant and can not survive in the north. In the middle of October every year, when the temperature drops suddenly, the bamboo should be moved into the room in time, and the room temperature should be kept above 15 ℃. The flowerpot should be placed on the window sill facing the sun, and the leaves should have a certain distance from the glass, so as to prevent the leaves from being partially frozen and dried yellow.
Bamboo adapts to growing in humid environment. Air drying in winter in North China is very harmful to the growth of bamboo, which is the main reason for its dry tip.
Spray at the leaves every day to keep the branches green. Bamboo likes to be wet, but it should not be watered too much. The pot soil is too wet for a long time, which is easy to rot roots, turn yellow leaves and even cause plant death. However, if the pot soil is too dry, it will also cause yellow leaves or scorched shoots. Therefore, if the basin soil is kept wet and half dry, the bamboo branches and leaves will be green and evergreen all the year round.
The fresh water without salt, alkali and other harmful substances is better. The tap water should be kept for 1-2 days to make the water temperature close to the room temperature before use.
Bamboo likes fertilizer. It can apply thin liquid fertilizer once a half month, mainly nitrogen fertilizer. Compound fertilizer is more ideal for indoor flowers. Reasonable fertilization can make the branches and leaves green and straight, and improve the ornamental value.
Bamboo is suitable for half shade environment. When the indoor light is weak in winter, it can be properly illuminated, and it should be placed in the sunny and windward place. If it is kept in shade for a long time, the leaves will turn yellow.
The resistance of bamboo to smoke is weak. In winter, if a fire is used to warm the room, in addition to reducing smoke and dust as much as possible, ventilation shall be conducted at noon on a sunny day to keep the air fresh.
In addition, the bamboo should avoid the kitchen lampblack and air conditioning outlets, not to mention the heating too close.
