First of all, prepare the knife. The knife must be sharp. If it is not sharp, it will not only affect the operation, but also reduce the speed. If it is not sharp, the cut will be uneven, which will make the contact surface of both sides of scion and stock small, causing wound necrosis.
In addition, prepare the bench and plastic film belt.
Secondly, we should prepare the rootstock.
The grafting time was from the middle of March to the middle of April, and the survival rate was high.
First, the cross section of the rootstock shall be cut with a knife, and then the rootstock shall be split vertically with a cleaver, with a depth of 4cm ~ 5cm, equal to or slightly longer than the scion surface.
In the process of scion, the two sides of the lower buds are cut into smooth surfaces, and the outer side of the scion is slightly thicker than the inner side. Each scion has 2-4 bars.
Insert the scion so that the scion is aligned with the stock cambium. One can directly insert 1-2 scions, or 3-4 scions if the rootstock is thick.
After grafting, tie the grafting place with plastic bags until the interface between scion and rootstock is tightly tied.
Look at the grafted pomegranate, it can also blossom and bear fruit.
