The cutting propagation time of Begonia in the family should be between April and may every year. When the temperature of spring flowers rises to about 20 ℃, the air humidity is high, the environment temperature is high, and the management of Begonia is simple, which is more suitable for the rapid root germination of Begonia.
The river sand needs to be washed, dried and placed in a basin. At this time, the dried river sand has basically reached the goal of disinfection. The dried river sand placed in the basin is conducive to promoting the healing of cutting branches, and is conducive to the heating up of sunlight in the basin during the day.
When selecting cuttings, Begonia should select strong 1-2-year-old branches for cutting. Each branch has 3-4 nodes, which are cut into flat columns and horseshoes below. In this way, the contact area between cuttings and sandy soil can be enlarged and the rooting of plants can be promoted.
Cut the plant in the basin with a row spacing of 3 * 4cm, not too close. Before cutting, prepare a bamboo stick with the same thickness as the cuttings to insert the basin sand out of the hole, and then insert the branches of Begonia from the hole. There is no need to water for about 2 days after cutting, so as to facilitate the healing of the cutting surface and prevent rot.
Water to the basin on the 5th day after planting. Place the plant in a cool place without watering. After 10 days, the root system can grow 3-4cm. At this time, put the basin in the sun, water it according to the climate, and then plant in the basin after 6-7 days.
