The propagation methods of amaranth are branching and cutting. Cutting can be from nothing to have, and branching can be from less to more. If your home is empty, try cutting. Cutting can be carried out all year round, but spring and autumn is the most suitable season.
Purslane is a perennial herbaceous plant, and it is most suitable to adopt top bud cutting method.
Select the branch with top bud, 3-5 nodes and length of about 5cm as cuttings. The selected branch has no diseases and insect pests. After the leaves are finished, it is better to have annual branches, so the branches will grow faster after cutting.
Before cutting, prune the branches, cut all the leaves of the stems inserted into the soil, and keep 3-4 leaves at the top of the branches.
Pick the fresh branches and do not dry them. Cut them directly in the prepared flowerpot. According to the size of the flowerpot, cut 5-8 branches in each pot to ensure that the branches have a certain growth distance and look compact and beautiful as a whole. Then pour water and put it in the half shade to ensure proper humidity and wait for the roots.
The rooting time of Amaranthus purslane is relatively long, generally waiting for 2-3 weeks, after rooting, the normal growth of leaves can be given a small amount of slow-release fertilizer. After the seedlings grow 3-4 leaves, they should be plucked in time. After heart removal, timely supplement nutrients to ensure the normal growth of seedlings. After the root system grows into a group, it can be directly planted in a larger flowerpot for viewing.
