Cutting treatment: dip the branches in indole butyric acid for 5 seconds and dry them in the air; direct cutting: dig 40 cm holes, 3 branches in each hole, and fill the soil thoroughly; cutting seedling: insert 1 / 2 of the cuttings into the holes and water them; seed propagation: wash the seeds, air dry and sow them immediately; layering propagation: use 3-year-old plants as parent plants, cut the branches into the soil, and fix and compress them with branches.

Honeysuckle is mainly propagated by cutting, but also by seed propagation, rooting and layering.

Cuttage Propagation

There are two methods: direct cutting and cutting seedling.

Cutting time: in spring, summer and autumn. Spring should be before germination of new buds and autumn should be from the beginning of September to the middle of October.

Selection and processing of the insert:

It is advisable to select the robust and substantial branches of 1-2 years old, and cut the cuttings with a length of about 30 cm, each of which has at least 3 nodes. Then, remove the lower leaves, leave 2-4 leaves in the upper part, cut the lower part near the node into a smooth slope, tie every 50 leaves into a small bundle, dip the lower slope with 500 ppm IBA solution for 5-10 seconds, and then cut immediately after slightly drying.

Direct cutting:

On the prepared planting land, dig holes according to the row spacing of 150 × 150 cm or 170 × 170 cm, hole diameter and depth of 40 cm respectively, loosen the subsoil, and apply 5 kg of mature manure or compost to each hole. Then, spread the cuttings evenly, insert 3-5 cuttings into each hole, and the depth of penetration is 1 /2-2 /3 of the cuttings. Then, fill the fine soil and step on it with your feet, and pour it once to keep the soil moist. It can take root and germinate in about one month.

Cutting seedling:

On the slotted bed with leveling and raking, line out according to the row spacing of 15-20cm, and punch holes on the border surface with small wooden sticks or bamboo chopsticks every 3-5cm. Then, insert the insert 1 /2 ~ 2 /3 obliquely into the hole, compact and press tightly, and then pour water once. If cutting in early spring at low temperature, the cutting bed should be covered with a plastic membrane bow grid, which is heat preservation and moisture preservation. It can take root and sprout in about half a month, then remove the plastic film and carry out seedling management. Planted in the winter of the year or in the spring of the second year. Summer and autumn cuttings were transplanted in the following spring. Cutting seedling can obtain a large number of nutritional seedlings in a short period of time.

Seed reproduction

Before and after frost, when honeysuckle berries turn black, collect mature fruits in time, knead them in clear water, float away the peel and impurities, remove the plump seeds sunk into the bottom layer, and dry them for storage. It can also be sown at the same time. If the seed is sown in the spring of the next year, the seed shall be taken out 40 days before sowing, soaked in 40 ℃ warm water for 24 hours, pulled out with 3 times of wet sand layer to promote germination, when 50% of the seed cracks are exposed, the seed can be screened out for sowing.

Ramet propagation

In winter, when honeysuckle is dormant, the mother plant is dug out, the root system and the aboveground stem are properly pruned, and then the holes are dug to divide the plants. Each hole is planted with 1-2 plants, and the flower bud can appear in the second year after the planting. However, the growth of the mother plant is restrained, and the flowers are few or even unable to bloom in the same year. Therefore, in addition to the use of wild excellent varieties for root splitting, the production area is generally less used.

Layering propagation

It was carried out in autumn and winter before dormancy or germination in early spring. The 3-4-year-old honeysuckle with flowering, robust growth and high yield was selected as the mother plant. The 1-year-old branches near the ground are bent and buried in the soil. In the part where the branches are embedded, they are scratched, covered with 10-15cm fine fertile soil, and then fixed and compressed with the branches, so that the branches are exposed to the ground. If the branches are long, they can be continuously bent and pressed into the soil. In the spring of the second year, the root bearing seedlings can be cut off from the mother body and planted separately.

Honeysuckle cuttings

The method of strip propagation does not need a lot of rattan cutting, and will not cause artificial yield reduction. If you stay in place and don't dig and plant, because you have enough nutrition, you will grow more flowers than other vines. Compared with the traditional cutting propagation, it can blossom 2-3 years earlier and maintain stable yield and increase production, and it is more important to operate conveniently, not limited by season and time, and the survival rate is also high.
