When we use grafting method to propagate green peach, we should first select a green peach plant with good growth condition, and then select Prunus Yamagata as rootstock. We usually bud or branch in spring or summer, so the survival rate of grafting can reach more than 90%. In summer, when budding, the wood bud should be cut first. Generally speaking, the suitable time for budding is June to July in the South and July to August in the north. Cut off the scions of the mother tree, trim the branches and leaves, leave the petioles, and leave some wooden parts inside the buds. The stem is three to five centimeters from the ground. Generally, the vertical part on the north side of the tree is selected. The bark is cut into a suitable gap, the scion is closely fitted with the cut gap, and then wrapped with a rope to prevent the air drying of the buds.
If the petiole of the scion turns yellow within half a month after bud grafting, the grafting is successful; if the petiole turns black, the plant does not survive. After confirming the survival of the scion and rootstock, we need to cut the rootstock one centimeter up from the place where the scion and rootstock are completely integrated. After sprouting, the rootstock should be wiped out completely. At the same time, fertilizer should be applied to promote the lignification of new shoots, so that the grafted seedlings have the ability to resist cold. After that, just pay attention to the control of aphids.
