The method introduced here doesn't need any high-tech means. It can turn red or pink flowers into blue easily. In fact, the color of Hydrangea is determined by anthocyanin, which combines with aluminum ions to produce blue flowers. There are two ways to cultivate Blue Hydrangea:
In the first 6 weeks of budding, aluminum sulfate solution was poured for 3 ~ 4 times. Solution irrigation has good absorption effect and even irrigation.
Another method is to sprinkle aluminum powder directly in the soil, once. Pay attention to keep the soil moist during application, and sprinkle it after watering. If the aluminum powder is sprinkled on the blade, wash it immediately with clean water.
It must be treated in the week of < span > 5 ~ 6 < /span > before budding. If the flower is budding, the time is too late.
In high latitude areas, the sunshine is weak at the beginning of spring and the end of winter, so it is necessary to supplement light moderately. In summer, pay attention to proper shade when the sun is sufficient, and the flowers will turn red if the light is too strong. Especially in the late stage of bud emergence, it should be kept in a cool place as far as possible.
In order to cultivate Blue Hydrangea, the soil acidity should be kept at < span > pH4 < /span > and the aluminum ion in the basin should be free.
In the process of cultivation, nitrogen fertilizer should be applied as little as possible, and ammonium nitrogen should not be applied. Of course, magnesium and iron should not be included in the selected fertilizer, otherwise the aluminum applied in the soil will be invalid.
Not all varieties of Hydrangea can turn blue. The selected variety should contain Delphinium pigment. If there are too many red pigments in the selected varieties, they will turn purple after cultivation. Although they fail to meet the requirements, they still have a different flavor. If they are white, they will become more white after treatment.
So when you choose a variety, don't feel the burden is too heavy, which variety will be more beautiful after cultivation.
