The tools you need to prepare are very simple. A pair of scissors, a foam board, a plastic bottle and a roll of tape will be enough.
First, cut the plastic bottle with scissors, as shown in the figure below, do not cut off the upper part of the bottle mouth completely
Cut the young branches of Gardenia that year. Cut the lower part at an angle of 45 degrees. Keep the upper part of the leaves. The length is about 10 cm.
Insert the Gardenia cuttings into the foam board as shown below and expose the foam board about five centimeters at the bottom.
Put Gardenia together with foam board in plastic bottle, then add proper amount of water in the bottle, float the foam board on the water, and insert the top of the branch into the water. Then seal the plastic bottle with transparent tape, open the bottle mouth, and put it in a place with enough light for maintenance.
If the humidity in your home is large, you can cut the plastic bottle directly and put the foam board in the bottle, as shown in the following picture. The reason why we only leave a bottle mouth to ventilate is to increase enough humidity for gardenia and promote rooting.
In this way, cutting, later management, let it take root on its own line, if the water quality is found turbid, you can change the water. Generally, the root system of white flower can grow one week after the water is inserted.
The Gardenia root system inserted in water is tender. If it is directly put into the basin, it is easy to cause damage and slow recovery. So, how to put the Gardenia into the basin after water culture is introduced to you.
1. First of all, we will find a disposable cup and punch a hole at the bottom of the cup to facilitate ventilation and drainage.
2. Seal the hole just made with adhesive tape. The reason will be explained to you below the flower
3. Add one third of the water to the disposable cup.
4. First add a small amount of soil to the cup, then put the Gardenia with roots into the cup, slowly add soil until the roots are completely buried.
Finally fill the soil, because there is water in the cup, so adding soil will not hurt the root system, very practical
5. After adding soil, remove the adhesive tape just now, the excess water in the cup will flow out, and the soil can be closely combined with the root system.
