The grafting time of Chinese rose is generally between summer and autumn. At this time, the temperature is not so hot, which is more conducive to its survival. Can also be grafted in spring, but to avoid the rainy season, or its growth.
The rootstock of rose is suitable for wild rose. The rootstock should first deal with the root. If the root system is too developed, it can be cut into several parts. The root with nodule can't be used. It's not good for survival and growth. Cut 2-3cm above the root system, cut a knife vertically between the bark and xylem of the incision, and leave a small opening.
The scion of the Chinese rose is usually 10 cm long. Cut off the thorn on the branch, and judge its up and down direction according to the position of the bud point. Make wedges at the bottom and scrape off one side of the epidermis to expose the xylem.
Insert the lower part of the scion into the notch of the rootstock, so that one side of the scraped epidermis fits with the xylem of the rootstock. Bind the fitting position with adhesive tape and plant it in plain sand. If the temperature is not high, you need to cover it with plastic bags and put it in the sun. Generally in a week, new buds can grow, low temperature will delay the speed of bud growth, but generally no more than 1 month. If the branch is blackened, the grafting fails.
