Rhododendron is widely loved by flower friends because of its various colors, gorgeous colors and long flowering period. Why other people's azaleas have luxuriant branches, leaves and flowers? What about the rhododendrons in your family, which grow slowly, have yellow leaves and few flowers? Because you didn't master the right cultivation method of Rhododendron!

Maintenance point 1: Cuckoo likes acid

I don't know if any friend found that the leaves of Rhododendron in his house are easy to turn yellow, even if it is poured with ferrous sulfate, it is difficult to come back green. Why is this? In fact, it has something to do with the soil. What Rhododendron likes is acid soil. If the soil is alkaline, it will "get angry".

So what should we do to get an acid soil? White vinegar can be used in every household. Besides the function of seasoning, it can also be used to adjust the pH of soil.

Every time you pour azalea, drop a few drops of white vinegar into the water, and you will get an acid soil.

Of course, if it is planted or troublesome friends, you can bury sulfur powder in the soil, sulfur powder will be oxidized after it is buried, so it can also become acid

Maintenance point 2: fertilization

Rhododendron is a kind of plant that likes fertilizer very much, but it is easy to be damaged by fertilizer. To fertilize Rhododendron must abide by "thin fertilizer application", otherwise, because of improper fertilization resulting in fertilizer injury death will be worth it!

Now it's the blooming time of Rhododendron. I'll mix cake fertilizer with water to use for Rhododendron. Cake fertilizer can provide nutrients for Rhododendron, so as to ensure the nutrition needed for flowering.

Of course, cake fertilizer is not enough, I will use a urea, because Rhododendron is a new flowering plant, if you want to open well, you have to grow well.

New shoots

Urea is a kind of high nitrogen fertilizer, which can promote the growth of branches, and the branches can differentiate into more flower buds after growing.

Usually fertilization is cake fertilizer and urea in turn, this week with cake fertilizer next week with urea, to ensure the full supply of nutrition.

Maintenance point 3: reasonable pruning

Rhododendron's single flower can bloom for a long time, but once it fails, it needs to be cut off to avoid the later inhibition of flower formation caused by nutrient shunt.

And even weak branches need pruning. Weak branches can't produce a big colorful flower.

As shown in the picture above, cut off one third of the branch with scissors after opening, so as to enhance the internal ventilation, strengthen the light and promote the growth of branches.

After pruning, do a good job in water and fertilizer management in the end of June can open a flower again, so that you can extend the flowering time.

Maintenance point 4: diseases and insect pests

After three years of Rhododendron cultivation, I found that it is very easy to grow red spider and brown spot disease, especially in the rainy season, it needs more management.

Red spider is a kind of spider mite. It can suck the juice of plants. Although it will not cause death, it will seriously affect its photosynthesis and reduce the amount of flowers.

If there are large areas of brown to dark brown spots, death will occur in serious cases! So don't take it lightly

Red spider with abamectin, spray once a week, three or four times in a row can kill. Remember to spray on the back of the leaves. It's the red spider disaster area.

In the case of melasma, spraying 800 times of methylthiophane or 1000 times of liquid yebantong, once every 10 days, two or three times in a row will be effective.
