Leek is a kind of vegetable that we often eat. Many flower friends like to plant an incubator on their balcony. It's very convenient to cut it as you eat it. Today Huahua will tell you how to grow leeks by yourself!

Seed leek

1. Leek can be planted when the temperature is above 15 ℃.

2. Prepare some leek seeds. You can buy them from the market or borrow some mature seeds from the people who grow them.

3. Prepare the flowerpot and soil for planting leek. It's OK to use an incubator or an iron basin. It's big enough and can't be eaten if there's not enough seeds. The soil can be prepared with garden soil and river sand 1:1.

4. Soak the seeds in warm water for 12 hours, then evenly sprinkle them in the flowerpot, water them thoroughly, put them in the place with scattered light and ventilation, and they will germinate in a week.

5. When germinating, it will grow slowly. Pay attention to watering and fertilization. Generally, when the soil is dry, water it once every 2 days in hot days, once a week in autumn and winter.

6. Fertilization is mainly applied with nitrogen fertilizer. If it is planted at home, we can use soybeans to boil the retting fertilizer and then mix it with water according to the ratio of 1:500 to water the leek.

7. The longer the leek is cut, the longer it will be. When eating, cut it from the root.

Grow leek root by root

1. If you think it's too long to start planting seeds, you can directly buy some leek tubers and root seeds. It's better to have them two years old

2. The root of leek should be treated first. If it's too dense, it's better to split it up and cut the root to about 4cm.

3. The leek root can be soaked in potassium permanganate solution or carbendazim solution for disinfection and sterilization to avoid diseases and insect pests.

4. The soil and flowerpot are the same as those prepared above. You can put some rotten chicken manure on the bottom of the pot to maintain the nutrition needed for the growth of leek.

5. Plant leek roots at a spacing of about 10 cm, water and put them in a sunny and ventilated place.

6. In 10 days, new leeks will grow, and they can be harvested when they are more than 20cm long.
