1. First of all, choose a cactus over one year old. The Yellow prickly cactus is most suitable for grafting with Christmas Cactus, and the survival rate is very high. If not, other varieties can be used instead
2. If you want to graft on the top, use a sterilized knife to cut across the top.
3. After cutting, we can see that the section is divided into two parts, the outer circle is the epidermis, and the middle part is the medulla. However, the best position for crabmail insertion is between the epidermis and medulla, where the wound healing is faster
4. Cut the cambium with a knife, not too wide, about the width of the inserted Christmas Cactus, so that the grafting wound is small and the recovery is fast.
5. Prepare the cuttings of Christmas Cactus, 2-3 leaves per section, do not use new leaves or too old leaves. It is best to use the strong blade in the middle part.
6. Use the sterilized blade to cut the bottom of the blade, just let out a little white part, try to shape it once
7. Insert the Christmas Cactus leaf into the incision, and try to make the middle line of the leaf and the cactus's thorn seat form a line. The thorn seat is the cactus's growth point, so it is easier to survive. After inserting, fix it with toothpick or clip.
8. In addition to horizontal insertion, the top can also be inserted vertically. Use a knife to cut a hole about 1.5cm deep above the thorn base, put the spike in, and then fix it.
9. If you want to graft the multi-layer Christmas Cactus, you can also cut the graft on the side of the cactus leaf. First of all, use alcohol to disinfect the place where you want to graft.
10. Cut an inverted triangle with the tip of the knife, insert the spike and fix it.
11. Don't water the cactus just grafted. Stop watering for 10 days. If the leaves of the Christmas Cactus don't wilt after more than ten days, it means the grafting is successful.
12. The picture below shows the Christmas Cactus grafted by a flower friend. The first one is very fast compared with that after more than three months.
1. Pay attention to the process of grafting, and disinfect the knives, cuttings and incisions. Many flower friends failed to graft, cactus wound rotted, because they were not prepared for disinfection.
2. It's better to choose a sunny morning for grafting. Rainy days will cause slow wound healing, infection and other problems, let alone rain.
