The cutting of crabmail
Cutting steps:
4. Insert the Christmas Cactus into the prepared soil and put it in a cool and ventilated place. Spray water on the soil for about 3-4 days.
5. About 1 week, the cuttings of crabmail can take root.
6. After rooting, the Christmas Cactus can be directly potted, and then placed in a cool and ventilated place for about 1-2 weeks, then it can be maintained normally.
If you have flower friends feel that Cutting Rooting is too troublesome, you can also directly use the way of water propagation.
1. Cut the stem to be cutted from the mother plant of Christmas Cactus, dry the wound slightly, and then insert the stem into the water. The lower part is about 3-5cm in the water.
2. Fix the Christmas Cactus in the water culture bottle, and then put it in the place with enough scattered light to wait
3. Before the roots grow out, change the water about once every 2-3 days. If it's tap water, it's better to air it for 24 hours. It took root in about a week. Rooting can be transferred to soil culture, or hydroponics all the time.
The most suitable temperature for grafting is 17 ℃ - 25 ℃, so it's a good time to take advantage of the cool autumn!
1. Selection of rootstock. As the cactus of grafting rootstock, we must choose the cold resistant variety, the best choice is the kind of variety that will not wilt in winter, and the leaves must be fat, so that the nutrition is enough to grow.
2. Selection of scion. Scion to choose a relatively old, strong and fat leaves, and then cut the lower end into a duck mouth.
3. Prepare sharp knife, carbendazim solution and cotton. Disinfect Christmas Cactus leaves, cactus leaves and knives with carbendazim solution, or black rot will occur when grafting.
4. Cut a knife about 1cm from the top of cactus, so as to expose the inside section.
5. Use a knife to cut the cactus horizontally, about 2 /3 of the length of the cuttings of crabmail.
6. Remove the skin of the Christmas Cactus to be grafted, about 0.8-1cm, and remove the skin on both sides. When going to the epidermis, don't cut it too long, or the wound will be rotten when it is exposed.
7. Insert the pruned Christmas Cactus into the opening of cactus, fix it with toothpick or clip, and then put it in a cool and ventilated place for about 2 weeks.
8. After that, prepare the soil needed for cutting, insert the grafted cactus into the soil, pour half of the water, maintain it in a cool and ventilated place for half a month, and then transfer it to the light.
9. As long as it is carefully maintained, the grafted Christmas Cactus will soon produce beautiful flowers.
The Christmas Cactus belongs to the short sunshine plant. In autumn, it will give the Christmas Cactus about 8 hours of light every day. The rest of the time, it will be placed in the dark place where there is no light. It can make the Christmas Cactus differentiate flower buds as soon as possible, so as to blossom ahead of time, which is also known as the "closed black house".
Crab claw orchid cannot be watered too much, otherwise it is easy to get root rot. During the spring and Autumn period, it can be poured once every 3-5 days, during the summer dormancy period, it can be poured once every 10-15 days. Pay attention to wait until the basin surface is completely dry before pouring.
Crab claw orchid likes to fertilize, but it should stop fertilizing in summer. From the beginning of autumn to the time before flowering, the mature liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer should be applied once a week, and 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution should be applied more in the bud stage to promote flower bud differentiation, so as to bloom more. When fertilizing, use a fine spout to spray slowly along the edge of the basin, do not touch the leaves, otherwise it will cause burns to the leaves.
After flowering, cut off the remaining flowers in time, about 3-4 pieces of stem nodes under the flower, so as to reduce unnecessary nutrient consumption, so as to let the next crop of flowers.
After a summer dormancy period, the plants of crabmail began to get messy. In autumn, they were pruned just in time, not only to ensure good-looking, but also to avoid unnecessary nutrient consumption, so that crabmail has more nutrients to prepare for flowering.

Flowers in the background to receive the most about the Christmas Cactus problem, is the leaves soft. So why are the leaves of Christmas Cactus soft? Flowers think it's caused by rotten roots!
1. If the rotten root condition is not too serious, water less, increase the light properly, and let the Christmas Cactus slowly adapt to come back.
2. If the rotten root is very serious, then we have to change the pot.
(1) take the Christmas Cactus out of the original flowerpot, and then clean up the soil on the root system.
(2) find a pair of sterilized scissors, trim all the old and weak roots on the Christmas Cactus root system, soak them in carbendazim solution for about 20 minutes, then take them out and dry them in a cool and ventilated place.
(3) prepare the loose and breathable nutrient soil, put the dried Christmas Cactus in the basin again, and then water it once, and then put it in a cool and ventilated place to relax for about 1 week, and then transfer it to the sun.
