Cutting is one of the main methods of propagation of Chimonanthus praecox, so as long as the right branches are selected and inserted into the right flower soil, it can be cut alive. If it is necessary to cut its branches, it is suggested to do so at the time after its flowering in winter. Because the branches at this time have higher growth ability, and are easier to survive after being buried in the soil
1. Selection of branches: it is better to select the branches of the current year with roots near the bottom of the plant for cutting. Because such branches have better survival ability. You can't select the branches that are too long or are hidden for cutting.
2. Preparation of flower soil: it is suitable to use flower soil which is relatively soft, easy to drain water and has enough fertility for cutting. This is good for its rooting and growth. Can't use too much hard soil cutting, otherwise it's not suitable for survival.
3. Treatment of branches: cut the branches to a length of about 20cm, and remove the excessive leaves. After that, soak it in rooting water for about 30 minutes, and then take it out to dry.
4. Cutting: put the bottom of the branch down into the selected flower soil. The depth of soil penetration should be controlled at about 10cm. After that, water once, then cover a layer of bag outside the branch, wait for it to take root.
