1. Selection and treatment of cuttings. The branch selection is the simplest, just cut one branch directly from the existing mature plant. Only two extra leaves within five centimeters from the cutting point should be removed. After that, leave the branches in a clean and ventilated place to dry for three days. After air drying, immerse the cut of flower branch into rooting solution, so as to ensure the rooting speed and increase the survival rate. It should be noted that as long as one branch is soaked once, too much will inhibit the growth.
2. Selection of flower plate and soil. Because longevity flower is air rooting, it has requirements for air permeability and drainage. Therefore, the best choice for flowerpots is clay basin with drainage holes at the bottom with good air permeability. The soil can be sand or directly purchased from the florist with good drainage.
3. Early planting and moisturizing. Insert the branches directly into the soil, expose the top, fix them and then pour them into the soil. There is a simple and convenient way to moisturize: take a transparent plastic bag with enough size to completely cover the flowerpot, cut several holes on the top to breathe, and then cover it on the basin until it takes root two to three weeks later.
4. Water and heat preservation in later stage. Longevity flower likes to be warm and afraid of cold. It's best to put it in the room with a temperature of about 15 ℃ for ventilation and sufficient sunshine. When the soil is dry, water it once a week or so. Don't forget to cover the plastic bag after watering in the first two or three weeks. When watering, water it thoroughly until there is water leaking from the drain hole. If there is a bottom tray, pour the water from the bottom tray and put it back to the bottom of the basin, otherwise it will easily rot.
1. Heart lifting and topping. For Florist Kalanchoe, too high and too long growth period is not conducive to late flowering and dense, so it is necessary to remove the heart and top in time to divide more branches. When it grows to five pairs of leaves, it needs to pick the middle three pairs and leave only two pairs, and then repeat the operation when the side buds grow five pairs again, about two or three times to pick the center; for the branches that are too long or too few branches, it needs to cut off the upper part and leave only two pairs of leaves at the bottom.
2. fertilization. The application of P and K fertilizer can help the bud to be dense and extend the flowering period, according to the growth situation of half a month or once a month. Proper application of nitrogen fertilizer in the growing period is also helpful to the growth.
3. Pest control. Powdery mildew is the most common disease of Florist Kalanchoe. It can be prevented by spraying special fungicides once a month. Pay attention to the back of leaves when spraying.
