Under the premise of reasonable conservation, Hawaiian bamboo can bloom. It usually begins to bloom in November, and soon after that, it will begin to bear fruit. The whole flowering and fruiting period can last about 2 months. Its flower is born in the middle and upper part of the plant, the inflorescence is fleshy, mostly white, light yellow, pink and other colors.
1. Temperature: if you want to keep it blooming, you must control the temperature. It will start to dormant under 13 ℃ and cannot bloom. In the flowering period, we need to pay attention to keep the temperature at about 20 ℃, it is possible to bloom.
2. Sunlight: during maintenance, it needs to receive a proper amount of scattered sunlight to help it accumulate nutrients before it can blossom. However, because it doesn't like strong light, it should be shaded in time when the light is too strong.
3. Water: when it grows, it needs to be replenished in time, which will make it grow better and blossom more easily. However, in the flowering period, we need to control the water slightly, so as not to affect its flowering.
4. Fertilizer application: if you want to keep it blooming, you need to stop applying nitrogen fertilizer and change to apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer around September. This can promote it to change the way of growth, turn to reproductive growth, and thus flowering.
