If you want the rubber tree to live through the winter safely, you must pay attention to increasing the temperature and keeping warm in winter, and ensure that the maintenance temperature is above 5 . If you have the conditions, you'd better move the rubber tree into the heating room. If there is no heating in the room, you can find a plastic bag to cover the rubber tree and open it for ventilation during the day.
In winter, the light is warm and soft. The domestic rubber tree must be exposed to the sun more. Adequate light can not only improve the local maintenance temperature, but also allow the rubber tree to carry out photosynthesis, accumulate nutrients, which is conducive to the growth of the plant and promote its safe overwintering.
In winter, when the temperature is low, the water in the pot soil evaporates slowly, so it is necessary to open the watering interval. At ordinary times, the soil should be kept dry. You can insert a wooden stick along the edge of the pot and pull it out when nothing happens. When the stick turns white and dry, you can choose to water it with room temperature water at noon when the temperature is high and water it thoroughly.
In winter, if the temperature is low, do not apply fertilizer. If the temperature is low, the rubber tree will automatically enter a dormant state. If you apply fertilizer at this time, the rubber tree will not only be unable to absorb it, but will also easily produce fertilizer and burn its roots. Therefore, in winter, if the temperature is lower than 15 , do not apply fertilizer.
When raising rubber trees in winter, we should also pay attention to maintaining the environment and ventilation to avoid the leaves falling off the plants, but we should also pay attention to preventing cold wind, move the rubber trees to a place far away from the windows, and open the windows for ventilation at noon when the temperature is the best.
