Saxifraga stolonifera can be propagated by cutting. However, the survival rate of this method is not particularly high, and the environmental requirements are also higher. So generally speaking, when planting it, we will use the method of plant division. However, if cultivated carefully, new plants can also be cultivated by cutting.
1. Cuttage time: Its branches are not easy to take root.So it is better to cut in the warmer spring.Because in the environment of about 20 C, its branches are easier to take root.
2. Substrate selection: When cutting it, it should be used as a substrate when it has good air permeability and drainage, so that its branches can take root more easily. If the substrate is not breathable enough, it will be difficult for it to take root.
3, carrying out cuttage: selecting a healthy saxifrage, and cutting a branch which is free from diseases and insect pests and has the length of 5-10cm from the saxifrage. Then cut the bottom of it obliquely, soak it in rooting water for about 20 minutes, take it out and insert it into the matrix.
4. Post-curing: After cutting, put it in a warm position, keep it ventilated, and water it in time before the soil dries. After a period of maintenance, it can take root smoothly.
