There are three main methods of propagation of Viola tricolor: sowing, cutting and pressing. Sowing and propagation can be carried out in spring or summer. It is necessary to select the sandy soil with good drainage to plant the seeds, water and shade them; cutting propagation can be carried out by selecting the branches drawn from the base as cuttings in early summer, and then cutting; layering propagation is best carried out in early summer.

1. Sowing and breeding

In fact, it can be sown all the year round. If it is sown in spring, it will bloom from July to September. If it is sown in summer, it will bloom from September to November. If you plant it in autumn, it will bloom in early spring. Although it can be planted all year round, it will grow better in autumn than other times, because it is afraid of high temperature. When it is still a young seedling, if it encounters high temperature weather, it will grow slowly. So the best time to plant it is in autumn. Before planting, first choose the sand land with good drainage as the nursery land, or use a shallow basin to plant, and then sprinkle the seeds, and cover the soil with 2-3cm thick, and give proper light and sufficient water.

2. Cuttage Propagation

It can also be propagated by cutting. In this way, it can maintain its excellent properties. First of all, in early summer, select the branches from the base as cuttings. If the branches bloom, they can't be used at all. Then they can be cutted in, and then take root in 2 to 3 weeks, with a high survival rate.

3. Strip propagation

In addition to the above two methods of propagation, it can also use the method of layering, time can be selected in early summer, its survival rate is also very high, but the most commonly used method is Cuttage Propagation.
