This constant, gentle humidity allows our delicate, fuzzy leaves to absorb moisture from the air without stress. 2. The Consequences of an Arid Atmosphere

When the air around us becomes too dry—common in homes with air conditioning or heating—we begin to suffer in ways you can clearly see. Our leaves, which are designed to absorb ambient moisture, start to lose water faster than our roots can replace it.
