I use it to create the food that fuels my growth and, most importantly, the production of my beautiful, fragrant blossoms. Without adequate light, I will become leggy, with long, weak stems stretching desperately for any photon. My leaves will be sparse, and I will likely never reward you with flowers. For at least six hours a day, I need to bask in bright, indirect sunlight. A south or west-facing window is ideal. Direct, harsh afternoon sun can sometimes scorch my leaves, so a little filtration through a sheer curtain is perfect. I will tell you I'm happy with robust growth and abundant blooms.
Water is the river that carries nutrients from my roots to every leaf and flower. But this river must not flood my home. My roots need to breathe, and sitting in constantly soggy soil will drown them, leading to root rot—a silent killer. The key is consistency and observation. Please check my soil regularly. Insert your finger about an inch deep. If the soil feels dry to the touch, it is time for a thorough, deep watering.
