Spider orchid is a kind of herbaceous plant, also known as "beautiful water ghost banana".
Wenshulan is a kind of perennial herb, which belongs to the genus wenshulan in Lycoris family. It is the same as spider orchid. It also has a gentle nickname, called "18 Bachelor".
This is the most obvious difference between the two. The petals of spider orchid are thin and long, and they are basically connected together to form a cup-shaped structure, which is called "stamen Cup". Wenshulan has no such feature
How to distinguish them when they are not blooming? There's a way, of course. The leaves of spider orchid are narrow and thick, and the leaves of Manjusri are wide.
The flowering period of spider orchid is late summer and early autumn, while Manjusri orchid is earlier in summer.
The leaves of spider orchid tend to be opposite, and the leaves of Manjusri grow spirally at the base. From the top down, spider orchid is linear and Manjusri is round.
