The leaves of Magnolia Tianmu are papery, oblanceolate or oblong, about 10-15 cm long and 3.5-5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base broadly cuneate, glabrous on the top and white long curly hairs on the bottom.
Magnolia leaves are thick leathery, oval or oblong, about 10-20cm long and 4-7cm wide, with blunt apex, wedge-shaped base and short villi on both sides.
Magnolia of Tianmu is red or light red, 9 perianth pieces are oblanceolate or spoon shaped, about 5-5.6cm long, and the filament is purplish red. The flowering period is from April to May.
Guangyulan flower is white, 9-12 perianth pieces are obovate, about 6-10 cm long, with flat filaments, purple. The flowering period is from May to June.
