Lantana is a shrub, growing up to about 0.7 to 1 meter, branches drooping.
Lantana camara belongs to erect or creeping shrub, which is taller than the former, about 1 to 2 meters high, sometimes rattan like, up to 4 meters long. The stems and branches are all square, usually with short barb like spines.
The leaves of Lantana camara are ovate and grow up to 2.5cm. The base suddenly becomes narrow and the edge will have thick teeth.
The leaves are oval to oblong, wider, about 3-8.8 cm long and 1.5-5 wide. The top is acuminate or acute, the base is heart-shaped, and the edge has blunt teeth.
Lantana camara is a head like flower with a diameter of about 2.5cm and a long total peduncle. The flower color is light purplish red. It grows up to about 1.2cm and the bracts are broad ovate.
The diameter of the inflorescence is about 1.5-2.5cm, the color of the Corolla is orange or yellow, the flower will soon turn dark red, and the bracts will be lanceolate.
