Leaf blade: the lower part of stem and leaf of the former is wide lanceolate or long oval, the upper part is long oval or linear, the upper part is green, and the lower part is gray white. The lower part of the latter is oval or oblanceolate, smaller, and the upper part is lanceolate, both sides are green. Fruit: the former has no fruit margin, while the latter has fruit margin.

I. blade difference

The basal leaves of artichoke are in the shape of rosette, the lower stem leaves are all in the shape of wide lanceolate or long oval, about 1 meter long and about 50 cm wide, with long petioles. The upper middle and upper stem leaves gradually become smaller and sessile, and the top leaves next to the inflorescence are linear or long oval. All leaves are grass, green on top and gray on the bottom.

Silymarin is also a lotus shaped basal leaf. The lower stem and leaf are oblanceolate or oval. Compared with the former, they are smaller, about 50cm long and 30cm wide. They are also smaller in the middle and above. The uppermost is lanceolate. All the leaves are of the same color on both sides. They are green and have white spots.

Artichoke fruit is a long oval achene, with white crown hair, up to 3.6 cm, no fruit margin.

Silymarin fruit is also achene, long obovate or long oval, brown, dark brown color spots, the top of the fruit margin, the whole, sawtooth.
