Phoebe chrysantha is a large tree of Phoebe in Lauraceae, which can grow up to more than 30 meters high. It has a straight trunk with many twigs. Its leaves are leathery, oval, 7-11cm in length and 2.5-4cm in width. The leaf blade is glossy on the front and short fluffy on the back.
