Tangfan, originated in Cape Province of South Africa, likes warm, dry and sunny environment. It is resistant to drought and semi shade. It is not allowed to accumulate water. It is neither hot nor cold. Its main growth period is in spring and autumn, and it can be given sufficient light.
If the light is not enough, the plants will grow in vain, loose and the leaves will become thin and long, and it is difficult to bloom. However, the plants growing in the sunny place will have plump fleshy leaves, compact and strong plant shape, which has high ornamental value.
Watering: Master "do not dry, do not pour, pour thoroughly", avoid basin soil ponding, also want to avoid rain, especially long-term rain, otherwise easy to cause rotten roots.
Fertilization: apply the thin liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer of "low nitrogen, high phosphorus and potassium" once a month. When applying fertilizer, do not splash the fertilizer water on the plant, so as not to cause rot. do not make the fertilizer liquid too thick. It is better to be light and thin.
Tangfan can be propagated by sowing, cutting and splitting.
Common pests of Tang fan: scale insects. Once it is found, brush it off immediately and spray the agent.
Tang fan has tuberous roots and almost no stems. It is necessary to pay special attention to water control in summer to prevent root rot.
