Lotus seeds have no specific dormancy period, as long as the temperature can be kept above 16 ℃ during sowing, they can be sown in all seasons of the year. If it is in the light, temperature appropriate circumstances, from sowing to flowering, usually 50 to 60 days in spring, 60 to 80 days in autumn.
The outer shell of lotus seed is very hard. Before seed soaking, the end with small pits of lotus seed should be clamped with pliers or a small opening should be worn on the ground.
Soak the seeds in a container filled with water. Put them in a warm environment when soaking. They will germinate in about 1 week and grow fine roots and leaves in 2 weeks.
Prepare a flowerpot without bottom hole, add half basin of river mud, add water to soak in advance, and press the root of germinated lotus seed into the river mud.
