Its stem is a stolon, which can spread along the soil surface, and then grow fibrous roots in the lower half of each leaf node, and reach into the soil. Once it grows, under the right conditions, the axils between the leaves and stems will sprout and grow new branches. In this way, it will continue to expand outward and spread its own growth space.
With this feature, rhizome can be used for hydroponics. Generally, a rhizome with three or five leaves can be cut out, cleaned and placed in hydroponics container. According to the size of each container, you can put one or four or five of them, and then use the cultivation medium or pebble to press the plant on the bottom of the pot, it can slowly resume growth, then sprout, and gradually grow into a full hydroponic pot.
