April, may or October is the best season. It can be carried out after the leaves are withered and yellow. First, remove it from the flowerpot, take out the root soil, divide the rhizome into segments, and ensure that at least two to three bud holes are reserved on each segment of rhizome, and retain the root system, so as to improve its survival rate.
Put the rotten fertilizer as the substrate into the pot to be planted, and lay a layer of soil with larger particles at the bottom, such as perlite, which can speed up its drainage speed. It must be placed in the order of first coarse and then fine, so as to facilitate the absorption of nutrients by new plants. The rhizomes should be buried in sandy loam, and the planting quantity should not be too dense. One or two plants in each basin can be used, otherwise it is not good for later flowering. After planting, water a little and put it in a sunny place.
In the later stage of watering, it should not be too much, or the roots can not breathe easily. It should not be exposed to the sun. In summer, it should be placed in a semi overcast place. In late autumn, it should be maintained in the sunny place. After frost, it needs to maintain the temperature of its environment at two to three degrees, which can help it survive the winter safely. When the temperature is low in January, it is necessary to check whether the rhizome is damaged by freezing. If freezing damage occurs, adjust the room temperature in time. At the end of winter, we should loosen the soil properly and move it outside in April.
