A shrub of the genus Delphinium, about 4-5m high. Branchlets are thick, cylindrical, with yellow lenticels, oblong or oval lenticels, glabrous.
There are 6 small leaves in Jinping, which are oval or oval, about 30cm long and 11cm wide. The apex is tail like acumen, the base is round, the top is glabrous, and the bottom is sparse star like pubescence. Its petiole is stout, about 40 cm long, petiole is 1.5-6 cm.
It is a panicle, growing at the top, about 28 cm long. The umbel has about 10-20 flowers, the flower color is purple red, the bracts are oblong, 5 petals, the flower buds are nearly spherical.
