When seeds are germinating and growing, when the seeds are soaked in water or dropped into the wet soil, the hydrophilic substances in the seeds will attract water molecules, which will rapidly increase the size of the seeds. At the beginning of imbibition, the water absorption will be faster, and then it will gradually slow down. The result of imbibition will make the testa soft or broken, and the permeability of testa to gas will increase, which will promote germination.
When the seed water absorption stage is over, the cell wall of the seed will hydrate with the protoplasm, all kinds of enzymes in the seed will also start to activate, and the respiration and metabolism will increase dramatically.
The seed embryo will break through the seed coat, and then increase in size. Most of the seeds in the public will first grow radicle, and then sprout.
After the seed grows the radicle, the germ will gradually grow the root, the stem, the leaf, then forms the seedling.
