The leaves of iris are mostly basal, overlapping, in two rows, in sword or silk shape, and the leaves are parallel.
The flower stem of Yuchan is cylindrical, about 40-100cm high, 3 bracts are lanceolate, nearly leathery, the color of the flower is dark purple, the perianth tube is funnel-shaped, the outer perianth lobes are obovate, the middle vein has yellow stripes, the inner lobes are small, wide and straight.
Iris inflorescence grows on the top of branch or stem, with several bracts, herbaceous or membranous. The flowers are large and colorful, with red purple, white, yellow, blue purple. The perianth tube is trumpet shaped, with 6 lobes, similar to the former.
