There are some excellent dandelion varieties abroad, such as the thick leaf varieties, which have large and thick leaves. In China, wild dandelion seeds are mainly collected. The plants with large leaves, multi colored green leaves, deep serrations and thick rhizomes were selected for seed collection and cultivation.

It can be directly collected in the field. In this way, although it is more economical, the straight root of meat is not fat, and it can not produce high-quality body sprouts, so it is suggested to cultivate them artificially.

Preparation before broadcast

The sandy loam with loose fertilizer and rich organic matter was selected as the planting land. After autumn harvest, clean the garden and combine with ploughing. Apply 4000-5000 kg of mature high-quality farmyard manure per mu. The next year, after the soil thawed, the border should be 1.2 meters wide, waiting for sowing.

When the soil temperature reaches above i5 ℃, the sowing begins. Open a shallow ditch 2-3cm in the border, with a distance of 10cm and a width of 10cm. Pour water steadily, mix the seeds with fine sand, mix them evenly, and spread them in the ditch. When dandelion seedlings enter the stage of 2-3, 5-6 and 7-9 leaves, three times of seedling thinning should be carried out in combination with weeding in the middle ploughing (the seedlings under the intercropping can be put on the market), and the last time the strong seedlings should be selected according to the plant spacing of 5cm and row spacing of 10cm. Generally, the seedlings after the intercropping should be watered in time.

After seedlings are fixed, 15-20 g urea and 6-8 G potassium dihydrogen phosphate are applied per square meter, and then water is poured again in combination with top dressing. In this period, overgrowth and lodging should be prevented, and weeds in the field should be removed in time in combination with the cultivation.

After a period of time without watering, until the fleshy root enters the rapid expansion stage, dandelion has strong resistance to adversity and disease. The focus of field management is to clear weeds and fertilizer and water management, and timely watering and topdressing should be conducted according to the plant growth status and soil. Page fertilization can also be used to delay leaf senescence.

Harvesting and storage of succulent roots

The delivery of meat roots shall be finished before freezing at the latest. Arrange the excavated heel plants, remove the old leaves, and keep the complete root system and terminal buds.

To prepare the storage cellar, the best choice is to dig 1-1.2 meters wide and 1.5 meters deep in the shady plot.

Put the meat root in the cellar, size well, height no more than 50 cm.
